Ladies Tweed Charity Day

IMG_4270Anne Woodcock has organised a ladies salmon charity day on the River Tweed, Tuesday 30th July. The day is open to ladies who would like to try salmon fishing to experienced female anglers who are wishing to improve their casting, river craft whilst fishing for salmon on the River Tweed. The day will also raise money for breast cancer charity Casting For Recovery UK & Ireland.

The event is being held on Middle Pavillion in the heart of the Tweed. AAPGAI Master Paul Little will be providing one to one and group tuition assisted by Anne Woodcock. Head ghilllie Mick Charlton will guide ladies and give assistance where possible on the beats 8 named pools.

200-300-SoupLunch will be provided by the Mary and her team from Wild Dining who are passionate about Scotland and committed to delivering the best cusine the country has to offer.

The cost for the days fishing, tuition, equipment and lunch is £100.

Middle Pavillion Beat – enjoys picturesque views of the Eildons and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Middle Pavillion is sheltered by hardwoods on the south bank giving protection from the southerly and westerly winds. The north side of the river is made up of a large easily accessible grassy bank where the hut and decking preside.

The beat fishes well in high or low water. There are eight named pools and a traditional tweed boat.There is an experienced fulltime ghillie on hand to guide fishermen to the catches and give assistance wherever possible. Seven pools can be fished off the bank or by easy wading along gravel, whilst the other being deep is fished by the boat.
