Event: Salmon Fishing.Tweed and Pamper 24th & 25th November
Saturday 24th November. Salmon fishing on the Dawyck Estate in the spectacular Stobo Valley, regarded as one of the most picturesque in Scotland. The river here is secluded from the road with more than 3 miles of streamy runs, glides and deeper pools split over 3 beats, all with easy access. As with many Upper Tweed beats, the biggest concentration of fishing effort takes place in November when really October can be prime time.
8.45 Meet river keeper Finlay Wilson, a professional fly-fishing instructor, guide and a member of the Hardy & Greys Academy. Bill Stanworth retired FishTweed reporter, guide and fishing instructor. Then its off fishing.
Accommodation booked for the Tontine Hotel, Peebles including three course dinner and breakfast within the ‘Special Ladies Fishing rate’
Sunday 25th November. Pamper day at Stobo Castle provides an ultimate escape from a days fishing for salmon on Tweed. Everything about Stobo is special: the stunning location, the luxurious facilities, and the fabulous treatments. Plus, the service is first class. The menu is full and varied. The food is all sourced locally, is beautifully cooked and elegantly presented. Stobo Castle has a top rating of 5 bubbles because there was nothing the Good Spa Guide could fault
