Casting For Recovery at Forbes of Kingennie

It was a real honour for Ladies Fishing member Anne Woodcock to be asked by Sue Shaw and Sue Hunter to be their retreat assistant for the Scottish retreat. Twelve ladies gathered at the Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort to relax, enjoy a weekend of escapism and to learn the sport of fly fishing in a truly world class, luxury venue.

After a warm welcome by Forbes of Kingennie owner Mike Forbes, including a fabulous casting demonstration from him, the ladies gathered for a get-to-know-you session then a delicious meal (The food was ‘exceptional’ during the weekend).

The weekend flew by and it was the big day ‘Sunday’ where the ladies go fishing with a fishing guide. It was fantastic seeing the ladies cast their lines and catch fish. Even though it was raining the girls were reluctant to come off the water, they were all ‘hooked on fishing’.

After a meal with the guides, certificates were handed out with goodie bags for all the ladies. Pam was the final lady to receive her certificate and she gave a speech on behalf of the ladies, there was not a dry eye in the room after she had finished.

Every penny raised for Casting For Recovery UK & Ireland DOES make a difference. THANK YOU Everyone x

Ladies Fishing will be fund-raising for CFR UK & I at the Glasgow Angling Centre Open Weekend 29th & 30th September.
