Learn to Fly-Cast / Improve your Casting

Members of GAIA – the Game Angling Instructors Association – will be on hand to help both beginners and improvers in the sport of fly fishing. All GAIA members are trained and insured and offer their years of experience to help anglers of all abilities improve both their casting skills and their angling techniques. A short session with one of our members should help you to increase the pleasure you gain from your fishing experiences and to improve your chances of outwitting your chosen quarry. Whether you are looking to make your first attempt at casting a fly, polish your double-hauling technique or solve any casting problem you may have a visit to the GAIA stand should be on your priority list.
Also present on the stand will be Anne Woodcock of ‘Ladies Fishing’ who is able to give ladies of all ages advice on what fly fishing has to offer, choosing suitable tackle, obtaining clothing designed for lady anglers and answering any other questions that you may have.

Whatever your age or sex, if you have ever thought of trying fly-fishing but have never got round to it, now is your chance to be introduced to this very popular sport.

Casting Competitions
Throughout the show there will be opportunities for casters of all abilities to see how good they are at either distance or accuracy casting. However, the competitions will not take the usual format but will be more light-hearted and ‘fun’ orientated, giving all abilities the chance to succeed. They will take place in the GAIA arena and the small entry fees will go to the ‘Casting for Recovery’ charity. There will be no ‘winners’  of the competitions – just the personal satisfaction of doing well.
The show is at Harewood House on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May. To buy tickets please click
