Welcome: Mile widziane: Bem-vindo Ladies Fishing
Welcome to all the new, regular ladies and juniors who came fishing with us yesterday at Chatton Trout Fishery . Welcome to our ladies from Portugal (bem-vindo) and Poland (mile widziane).
Paul Little taught us all how to dress a fly on a brooch, due to the high attendance Paul taught this across the day over 3 sessions. The previous evening he was tying this fly with juniors at Bishop Auckland Angling Club, in total 28 people over 2 days tied the fly designed for Ladies Fishing. You would think he would be resting today, no! he is now in Scotland assessing the SANA fly dressing exam.
Cliff Johnston whilst ladies were dressing flies was talking entomology to groups of ladies. Using his computer and projector screen ladies stood indoors with a hot drink and viewed the bug life in the comfort of the Chatton lodge. It proved popular with visiting anglers to Chatton also.
Outside Nick Wood was teaching beginners casting, under extremely challenging windy conditions. Nick is currently studying for the Level 3 National Sports Coaching qualification and was eager to share his knowledge with us all. Good Luck with the course Nick. Level 1 coach Vicky Bell spent time teaching the youngest junior 6 yr old Matthew.
Tuition was also available during the day for the double handed rod. Anne Woodcock gave junior angler Abbie her first double haul lesson with positve results. Abbie was later fishing using this new cast with her grand dad on the fishery.
Finally the day was finished with a demonstration by AAPGAI Master Paul Little, assisted by Anne Woodcock. Paul the previous weekend had demonstrated spey casting at the AAPGAI open weekend for the single and double handed rods.
Certificates were handed out by Paul to everyone and the day was finished with a huge thank you to Ali and Roger at Chatton Trout Fishery.
Lastly, I would like to thank George Macintyre from the Journal newspaper for joining us and taking photographs of the day. George has written about the day on his website Fishing for Anglers .
