Something to pass the time from Dr Mark Everard
Daily walk along the river - the Wear Rivers Trust planted trees early March. Floods in February have destroyed some of the bank. Such a shame to see those who do not normally walk the river leave their rubbish for others to pick up. In the middle of the Wood you find a plastic bottle - do they think the fairies 🧚🏻♀️ will pick it up #takeyourlitterhome
Just over 2 months ago we were singing Caledonia with Dougie Maclean at the opening of the River Tay.
Standing on the banks of the River Tay with friends and a poignant song about Scotland.
For friends who are unable to travel to this beautiful place at this moment in time, this is for you x x

I don’t normally share my daily walk to the river with Sophie.
Many of you will not know that I work from home for FishPal so having a break and getting out in to the fresh air is really important for me.
Every day we walk to the river whatever the weather and during the last 6 weeks we’ve seen it flooded, both banks burst quite a few times.
We are now in u chartered territory with Covid19 and everyone needs to take individual action to reduce transmission and slow it’s spread.
We all have a role to play and a responsibility to modify our behaviour.
For me personally casting a line in a river on my own away from the stresses and strains of daily news updates, shoppers panic buying as if the world is going to end is a luxury that I have.
If you can’t get to a river I hope you have a green space nearby to enjoy the sounds of everything connected with Spring.
