Hi ladies

Just keeping you updated about the pro bass fishing in usa

All in all, Baker and White have a lofty goal. To enable any woman who wants to fish to be able to come out and fish the ALA events. By making the events fun, affordable, and innovative, they hope to attract not only the contestants, but also the potential sponsors and host cities. Making that a reality will involve much more media exposure than the ladies have ever been subject to in the past, but I have a feeling that they’re ready to take on the challenge. Many of the ladies have told Baker that they already have their partners, they just need to know when and where the tournaments will be scheduled, and they’ll be ready to fish. Rod has joked, “The ALA – we’re the only ladies’ trail without a schedule posted.” As soon as we schedule one – you’ll all be the first to know.

Good luck ladies from ladies fishing

2010 Environment Agency Licence

2010 Environment Agency Licence

Ladies don’t forget that you will need to get a one day rod pass for the Jim Fearn day on Saturday 27th March from the Environment agency, this can be done online at the following address, a one day pass is £8.00

Any angler aged 12 years or over, fishing for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels in England (except the River Tweed), Wales or the Border Esk and its tributaries in Scotland must have an Environment Agency rod licence

http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/recreation/fishing/31497.aspx

If you fish without a rod licence you are cheating other anglers, it is an offence to fish for freshwater fish and eels without a valid rod licence and if you are caught you may be fined up to £2,500.

The money raised through rod licence sales is invested directly in fisheries work that benefits all anglers

Ladies Fishing and Paul Little

Ladies Fishing and Paul Little

The ladies gathered at 9.30am on Mothering Sunday, to spend the morning fishing with the Chatton Trout Fisheries competition team, enjoying one to one tuition, discussing techniques, lines, types of fly to fish, retrieval techniques, competition tactics etc.

Dawn Dixon who has now made her own sinking line as a result of a master casting class with Lee Cummings, commented “to spend time with competition anglers and understand how they fish and to test my home made shooting line and get their opinion will help me when I go fishing on my own”

During lunch the ladies had a talk including photo’s of 22lb Sea Trout from Paul Little from his recent trip fishing for Sea Trout on the Rio Gallegoes, Argentina.

In the afternoon the ladies who are all beginner fly tiers, tied their first classic salmon fly with a little help from Paul Little.

Paul said “I was approached by ladies fishing because they wanted to tie flies. This is the first group of women I know in the UK who organise fishing days and days to tie flies, including classic salmon flies”

The ladies tied the The Silver White from how to dress Salmon Flies by Dr. T. E. Pryce-Tannatt. Paul tied the fly using step to step easy instructions for the ladies to follow, supplemented with notes including photographs. The ladies found the wing and the cheeks of the fly the most challenging part.

Paul asked Chatton Team member and fly dresser Jim Tuck to judge the ladies flies. All the ladies flies were tied to a high standard and Jim was impressed that this was a beginners group. The winning fly in Jim’s opinion had the right balance on the tail, including the correct number of ribs, so well done to Anne Woodcock with Vicky Bell a close second.

Huge Thank you to Paul Little, Jim Tuck and the Chatton Team
