Event: Sea Fishing with Paul Fenech Sunday 28th October

Due to popular demand we are organising a sea fishing event at Durridge Bay, Sunday 28th October from 9am – 4pm.

The day will consist of tuition from our UKCC Level 2 Sea Angling Coach Cliff Johnston for beginners, assisted by sea angling friends of the Ladies Fishing Club.Equipment and bait will be provided.

For ladies who go sea fishing, the features editor of the number one sea angling magazine in Europe ‘Sea Angler’ and England International Paul Fenech will be demonstrating and teaching casting, including tactics. Those competition anglers among us, Paul is happy to answer questions.

We have the chance of catching, whiting, flounders, bass on the surf, with the possibility of cod and turbot.

Bait to be supplied will consist of ragworm, dungie blacks, Bluies, mackerel and squid.

Paul will be bringing along some beach shelters, to protect us from the elements.

The event is weather dependant.


9am – 1pm Safety talk then fishing.

1 – 2.pm lunch in Cliffs camper van will consist of hot soup including pies Paul will be bringing with him from Brays Cottage pies in North Norfolk, who make pork pies in a converted flint barn, over looking the sea. (its worth attending just for the pies)

2 – 4pm Carry on fishing till dusk or till we are cold.

What do you need to bring: warm clothing, hats, gloves, wellies, thermals, waterproofs.

Cost including tackle, lunch and bait £10.00

This event is limited on numbers, if you are attending please let me know asap as we have limited places for ladies requiring equipment. If you are a mother and daughter/son wishing to share a rod please let me know.

  1. Hi Anne Just sorting the emails, put me down for the Sea Fishing as well as Chatton Ladies in October, assume this weekend is still on. Can we use our salmon rods for sea fishing? Plenty time to sort that later. Cheers Marion
