Another great day at Chatton Trout Fishery

The day started with the ladies fishing the lakes, beginner Janice was quick off the mark after one-to-one casting tuition with Paul Little, she caught a fin perfect 2lb rainbow on a dry fly.

Tactics were floating lines using tiny drys, emergers and cdc’s to tempt the suface feeding trout. Marion landed her first fish of the day just before lunch on a cdc.

During lunch Paul Little discussed tips, poly-leaders, tippets and dropper knots, whilst Anne and Cliff set the rods up for the double handed casting class in the afternoon.

Paul Little demonstrated the circle c, including fault finding and line presentation. The session will be put to good use during week as some of the ladies are off fishing the Tweed and Tyne.

An afternoon double handed Spey casting practice with Paul Little I think the moves just might have finally sunk in to this old brain today … thanks Paul’
