Springer success for Jenny on the Tyne

Congratulations to Jenny Cooper landing her first Tyne spring salmon.

I met Jenny and her fishing party last Autumn, when I fished Bywell.  We talked about fishing clothing for females, the love of everything Simms and Casting for Recovery .

Jenny is a recent convert to salmon fishing and enjoys fishing top beats in Scotland, including  Ukanga, Russia. Her trip last Autumn to Bywell she landed three double figure salmon.

Last week she fished Bywell for three days in not ideal conditions. She hooked her 17lb springer in the bridge pool and landed it in the next pool, pipeline. This was Jenny’s first spring salmon and it is a fine example with long tail sea-lice. Head ghillie Gary Hilary said ‘cracking fish’

Fly used was a calvin shrimp, we suspect she tied it herself.

  1. In Northern Calif we call this kind of fish ” A Chromer “, simply because of the bright silver color. Beautiful Catch and Congratulations!
