End of Season salmon event for charity
Cathy Muse and Sarah Iveson, the salmon fishing babes have secured Eltringham beat for 10 rods on Saturday 29th October.
They are organising a charity event to celebrate the “end of the season” and to raise funds for Maggie’s Centre (a cancer charity working towards raising £3 million to build a Maggie’s Centre at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle).
The day will consist of fishing (with ghillies), lunch & refreshments, tuition if required and more salmon fishing ………..
Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to seasoned female salmon anglers. Equipment is available at no additional charge for ladies who don’t have salmon fishing rods, life vests, wading staffs etc.
I hope you will all support this charity event organised by Sarah and Cathy.
Well done Ladies

Beat: Eltringham. Location Tyne just below the famous Bywell beat. The 1.6 miles of single bank salmon fishing on the south bank of the RiverTyne is approximately 3 miles upstream of the tidal limit. The upper pool, Merryshields, is opposite the Bywell Fishings. The water offers a good mix of glide, stream and pool. The salmon and sea trout caught on this beat are wonderfully fresh with sea-liced fish setting the standard.
