Families get hooked on fishing
Today we’ve been introducing families and individals to fishing in the grounds of Witton Castle Country Park, County Durham. What a fantastic venue, amidst 330 acres of beautiful landscape at the foot of the pennines.
Beginners of all ages from grandad’s to 5 year olds, including stroke and cancer survivors as well as a Downe’s syndrome lady have enjoyed introductory sessions throughout the day from Ladies Fishing coaches Cliff Johnston and Anne Woodcock.
There will be a follow up session in August for all particpants to attend a day at Witton Castle Lakes, where begineers will have the opportunity to put their new skills into practice. Any ladies wishing to attend this event including level 1/2 coaches who would like to gain coaching experience please say ‘Hello’ to Anne
Thank you to Witton Castle Country Park for giving Ladies Fishing coaches the opportunity to demonstrate casting styles, including tips and advice for anglers wishing to purchase their first rod. Rods used for todays sessions were from Sonik and Orvis.
