Grayling Fishing with Trish in February

Teviot is a renowned grayling river, the place I have in mind is on a private estate near Nisbet, Roxburghshire, and rods are available on Saturday 20 February.  The last time I visited, I was lucky enough to net two grayling.

Cliff Johnston GAIA Instructor has been invited to provide expertise, and a gillie is also available, depends how many of us there will be. During the day you will learn about efficient fly-casting, fly fishing tactics, long trotting, effective flies and how to read the river, along with safety and wading

The estate provided the following information: Woodside Walled Garden is located nearby Harestanes and is open from 10am – 4pm during February.  They serve soup/sandwich lunches and tea/coffee/cakes etc.  If you want a more substantial lunch you could book a table at the Cross Keys in the neighbouring village of Ancrum (a couple of minutes drive) or book a table there for dinner at the end of your day.

If you are bringing your own lunch there are tables and chairs in the park at Harestanes which is still accessible or if it is wet the fishing hut can be used to provide some undercover shelter. Please have a look at the distance Nisbet is from you and let me know if that and date 20th Feb suit, and I will book the rods (£10 each). Cost including tuition £10.00 per person

Anne is currently tying flies for grayling for the trip
