Hi Ladies,
I thought you would like to know the good news that Cliff Johnston has accepted our request to become the official ladies fishing coach now he is officially retired from lecturing. For over 50 years Cliff has been involved in education lecturing BA’s in Education through to Post Graduate, Masters Degree Level at Durham University. During his long and very successful career he has specialised in primary education in particular the sciences.
Cliff enjoys fishing for everything from coarse, sea and game. During his 60 years of fishing he’s been known to tie the odd fly or 2, and recalls some interesting stories of when he was a boy, what he used for fly tying and his first fishing rod, which was the aerial off a tank. He is on the board of Bishop Auckland Angling Club, Witton Castle Lakes. He runs the BAAC junior club at Witton Castle Lakes, and even has time to be the treasurer of the Northumberland Branch of The Salmon and Trout Association, along with other charitable interests he has. He is also a co-ordinator for the Wear River Fly Survey. He is a GAIA qualified instructor and is involved in the coaching qualifications for the ADB.
I know you will all be as pleased as myself and Trish knowing that Cliff is our resident coach, he has been a keen supporter since we established the fishing group. His knowledge and experience of the fishing industry and education is only going to benefit and improve the events ladies fishing will be holding in 2010 and beyond. Cliff is holding a day on Saturday 24th April for casting tuition including begineers entomology. If you would like to book a place on this free event please contact annefishing@yahoo.co.uk
If you would like to read more about Cliff you can go to his website at http://www.cast2catch.co.uk
