Cocktails, Fly Tying & Salmon

Cocktails-@-Toast-Cafe-Bar-Grill-Restaurant-BlackpoolLadies attending the first River Spey Ladies Fishing Festival are in for a treat on Friday 31st March.

At 7pm in the Aberlour Hotel there will be cocktails and fly tying. Members of the River Spey Anglers Association will help you tie your first salmon fly. On Saturday give it a swim and who knows you could be hooking into your first Spey springer on your own tied fly.

I can now confirm that our after dinner  guest speaker will be the Spey Foundation’s Head Biologist Brian Shaw. His job is wide ranging across the Spey catchment and includes key priorities which include: understanding the factors affecting fish populations; monitoring river habitat; biosecurity and invasives species control.

At the end of the evening there will be a fund raising raffle and all monies raised will be used by the River Spey Anglers Association to encourage young people into fishing.

Some of the prizes so far include:
A year subscription to Trout & Salmon Magazine – gifted by Donna Harris
A day salmon fishing for two with tuition on the Cottage Water, River Spey – gifted by Diane Avan
FishPal Fishing Voucher – gifted by Mark Cockburn
Prize from Tronix Pro – gifted by George Cunningham
Prize from Mackenzie Fly Fishing – gifted by Scott Mackenzie
Prize from Caledonia Fly Company – gifted by Malcolm and Karen Anderson
Ladies please bring along a raffle prize as it is for a great cause.

It’s going to be a busy evening so we’ve decided to have 2 courses including coffee. Please let me know what your would like to eat via email and upon receipt of your email I will send you a link for payment for £23.00. Partners, husbands, friends are welcome – I have booked 30 places.
