Ladies Fishing have a stand at the Glasgow Angling Centre open weekend 29-30th September and will be fund-raising for Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland and Get Hooked on Fishing by holding a tombola.

We are hoping to have a range of items to entice a crowd of varying ages and tastes.

Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland
Provide an opportunity for women whose lives have been profoundly affected by breast cancer to gather on fully funded retreats in natural settings across Britain and Ireland to learn the sport of fly fishing. Just as importantly, retreats offer an opportunity to meet new friends, exchange information and have fun. Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland is now in its sixth year of operation and over 200 ladies have been through the programme.

Get Hooked on Fishing
An angling programme which helps provide positive opportunities for young people and communities. They deliver fun and interactive training around the sport of angling. Their programme is especially designed with the help of young people to give the participants more confidence and to demonstrate that there are alternative pathways and better opportunities available to them.

Some schemes are based on coarse fishing, sea angling and fly fishing.
