Hi Ladies

Thank you to the 9 ladies who are attending this fully booked event on Wednesday, I now have all your equipment requests

from rods, waders, life vests, wading staffs which will be available for you to borrow free of charge. Paul Little is dressing suitable salmon flies for any ladies who require flies

We have 4 double handed instructors from AAPGAI, APGAI and GAIA, including 2 female coaches available on the day to assist. Tuition is free of charge, and our ratio of tuition for this event is 1 instructor to every 2 ladies.

We also have toilet and changing facilities available on the day.

Current Prospects on the Tyne:

The excellent runs of fish continue, the record July count of 9,240 exceeded the previous high of 8,112 in 2004. The count for August up to the 11th is 3,708, with counts of 641 on the 5th and 504 on the 8th, this count is already among the higher than average counts for the whole of the month. Salmon numbers are increasing and reports from the coast suggest that many more will enter the Tyne soon. Latest catch reports confirm that more salmon are in the Main Tyne. The current Kielder release of 1.8 cumecs will run until the 15th when the flow will ramp up to 9.3 cumecs at 19.30 hours. The recent heavy showers have put a little extra water into the reservoir and the upper South Tyne. The tides are over 5.0 metres this week and these high tides encourage fish to enter the river. A lot of fish are now in the lower river

ps don’t forget your ball gowns x
